Teachers in our catholic school are behind when it comes to technology. We have just started fully incorporating smart boards last year and are still working out kinks in chrome books for the students. Instead of waiting time and effort of these somewhat out dated material, why not use what the students already have and are accustomed to! Yes we will have to establish a separate wifi server for them that is more restrictive. Which will take some time and money. However, then we can allow them to search and discover information to aid in the educational process on devices their family provides. Which will save the school money in the long run. These can be items such as tablets, laptops, I-Pods and so on. I think anything that can not text or make calls so be allowed! I am open to suggestions as well!
I believe the B.Y.O.D movement will aid in all subjects. Students again can look up information on up to date technology without having to take time signing out and moving to the computer lab. They will be able to create power points and papers on them as well that they can present to the class. Along with communicating with myself and other classmates on them outside of class for clarification and furthering knowledge!

    - If pros out weigh cons contact tech service/ gentleman to implement student Wi-Fi.
    - Test out Wi-Fi server.
2- Inform parents and students of B.Y.O.D procedure if agreed upon. Basically students may bring their devices to school and they will be able to appropriate use them when stated by the teacher on the topic of school.
3- Implement student technology in classroom setting when appropriate, and grow from there.

Once upon a time, a long time ago, a woman was watering her sheep. Her husband had reminded her to be sure and cover the well tightly when she was done as water was scarce. But when she was done watering the sheep, she forgot to close the well. Soon, the well filled and the water poured out. It flowed and flowed, and flooded the grassland at the bottom of the hill. The sheep bleated in fright. The woman tried to stop the flow of water by covering the well. But the water was moving too rapidly. It tossed the cover into the air, and poured even more forcefully out of the well.Just then, a warrior came riding by."Can you help me?" the woman cried. "I cannot stop the water!"The warrior shot an arrow into the tallest mountain, splitting it in two. One part fell onto the well and stopped the water from pouring out.The woman turned to the warrior, eager to thank him and to offer him food to eat when suddenly something occurred to her. She blurted, "But how will I get to the water again? It is under a mountain."The warrior only bowed and smiled and went on his way. When the woman realized that she had not offered food or greeting, she hung her head in shame.
